Kalo yg anda maksud seperti yg diuraikan om "J.W" Atlon XP 3000+, baik yg core Barton, T-Bred, Clawhammer, Newcastle, Venice, San Diego dst. tidak ber arsitektur seperti yg anda bilang.
Jaman dulu, waktu Era K6 dan K62 memang merupakan cloning dari Intel, atau ada sedikit kemiripan dgn i486 dan i586, makanya kala itu baik Intel maupun AMD sempat sama2 mengunakan Socket 7/Super Socket 7. Begitu masuk era selanjutnya, arsitektur sama sekali beda, Intel menggunakan Slot 1, sementara AMD menggunakan Slot A Kalo Linux yg optimal utk itu, om "JW" lagi yg jawab deh.
