PURPOSE: Plans, organizes and controls assigned cross-functional projects
from conceptual stages through product development life cycles. Balances
scope, quality, effort, risk and timeline to achieve project deliverables.
Ensures that deliverables created by the project team add value and
contribute to the success of the program.



ESSENTIAL DUTIES AND RESPONSIBILITIES include the following. Other duties
may be assigned. Works with cross-functional project team members on
numerous assigned projects; develops and manages project plans that
encompass the complete product development life cycle (i.e. product
requirements, development, quality assurance, deployment etc.). Determines
detailed approach and timeline of projects. Works with the cross-functional
area leads to secure resources and ensures resources are used effectively.
Defines roles and expectations of team members and ensures timely feedback.
Measures and monitors progress to ensure that a project is delivered on
time, within budget, and meets or exceeds expectations. Communicates key
milestones, issues and project status. Resolves issues affecting project
scope, quality, effort, risk, and timeline. Creates and manages contingency
plans for the project, if necessary. Reviews and provides feedback on
project deliverables (product requirements, functional specifications,
etc.). Develops business cases for new and enhanced network infrastructure
components client and works with Network Architects to create technical
requirements documents. Manages the implementation of new systems or network
components with internal and external development partners. Coordinates the
hand-off of deliverables across functional areas (e.g., from engineering to
QA to deployment).



Successful Candidate will have the ability to work in a fast paced,
cross-functional team environment. Ability to manage multiple projects
simultaneously; prioritize and monitor engineering and operations tasks and
resources across projects. Demonstrated leadership, planning, organizational
and analytical skills. Ability to build a strong knowledge of client
products and services, gain knowledge of how they are used by its customers
and develop a deep understanding of the network infrastructure. Broad
understanding of the product development disciplines necessary to develop,
design, evaluate, test, implement, operate, and maintain integrated
products. Effective communication skills. Successful candidate will also
have software or engineering development or project management experience;
experience working with technologies such as client/server architecture,
network architectures, web-based development, database architectures, ISP
architectures including e-mail, LDAP, and provisioning. Must have an
understanding of technical product development, test environments and
operational support activities. Communications experience (telephone, cable,
wireless communications or Internet companies) is preferred.
