Candidates must be local to Minnesota Please respond to *[email protected]* Core responsibilities for the successful candidate will include: Designing, implementing and monitoring database application to ensure stable and efficient environments Performing database administration activities in a safe, recoverable and professional manner that ensures optimal operation of all database environments Collaboration with Application Development teams to support Oracle Applications 11i and R12 Upholding enterprise policy and recommending new/improved guidelines to ensure compatibility and better service for end-users Identifying and initiating resolutions to user problems/concerns associated with database server equipment (hardware and software) Identifying potential service level problems before they occur and notifying appropriate parties Staying abreast of the most current releases of Oracle Applications Logging support cases as necessary and effectively working with Oracle Corporation to resolve issues Maintaining up-to-date plans for disaster recovery and fail over capabilities and testing as required Performing capacity monitoring and short and long-term capacity planning in collaboration with development resources, system administrators and system architects Proposing solutions, identifying tools, and generating procedures to ensure an efficient, consistent, repeatable environment Maintaining security according to best practices and generating security solutions that balance auditor requirements with user requirements Participating in 24x7 on call rotation as required. Assist development teams with performance review and tuning efforts. Assist development team in code deployment activities. Assist development team in code design as it pertains to the database. Candidates will possess: 5 + years experience as an Oracle DBA supporting Oracle databases in high availability Unix environments Specific experience with Oracle Applications 11.5.7 or higher and utilities (AutoConfig, AD Admin and AD Patch) Proven experience with performance tuning, capacity planning, disaster recovery planning and testing Thorough knowledge of Sun Solaris and/or IBM AIX platforms Proven ability to work through SRs with Oracle Corporation technical support Prior success working within structured systems development processes Demonstrated diagnostic skills Proven analytic skills and strong judgment Excellent communication skills – written and verbal Ability to work effectively with others and share knowledge to ensure team success Prior experience working within a managed services environment preferred Experience with AS10gR3, AS10gR2, ASM, OID, OEM and/or RAC desired Bachelor's Degree in Computer Science or related discipline, or equivalent experience -- James Astoline Inc Phone : 732-889-1407 E-mail : [email protected] www.astoline.com --~--~---------~--~----~------------~-------~--~----~ You received this message because you are subscribed to the Google Groups "Mainframe1952" group.
