*Brief Description of the work to be completed: *Data Center & firewall network infrastructures, including architectural relationships of dedicated & shared network resources – application servers, Internet services, remote access, private/public foreign partner, interface to WAN, with particular attention to security in mixed partner environments. The nature of the work is restructuring, redesign & documentation, staging & deployment assistance to meet changing business requirements. *Critical skills & related experience: * Bachelors of Science in related IT field. Minimum 6 to 8 years experience in the IT field, in an enterprise environment. Minimum of 5 years in Networking. Candidate must have hands on working knowledge of a large Cisco switched/routed network environment. Specific experience must include Cisco router & switch feature sets; configuration & troubleshooting; layer 3 network design; MPLS, OSPF & BGP routing protocols; network address translation; 802.11 wireless Ethernet & 802.1x authentication (wired & wireless). Working knowledge of wide are technologies, cache & proxy servers valuable. Bayer platforms include 65xx, 45xx, 35xx & 29xx switches; 74xx, 73xx, 72xx, 37xx, 36xx, 26xx routers. Prior knowledge / experience with Bayer network architecture, documentation & tools a major factor. This position is a heavy weight, and will require the resource to be able to contribute immediately. Candidate must feel comfortable working independently as well as working closely with the team.
