DB2/UDB DBA Plano, TX 6 Months Description: Perform DB2/UDB Database administration as a member of a team of DBAs per the general responsibilies outlined below . Planning, installation and configuration of DB2 database and related software . Planning, installation and configuration of DB2 patch fixes and upgrades. . Perform database requirements analysis. . Configuration, creation and maintenance of DB2 databases and instances . Assistance with Schema Management. . Assistance with Security Management. . Implementation of Backup and Recovery Strategies. . Assistance with Data Loading. . Configuration of client-server software. . Monitoring and management of database server, memory , and space resources. . Performance tuning at server and application levels. . Troubleshoot production issues as they occur. . Tracking of tasks/time for internal client billing and reporting purposes. . On-call production support at least 2 weeks per month. Skill Sets * 7 total years as an DB2 Database Administrator / System Engineer in a Unix production environment (version 8.x experience required). * Must have experience in both arenas Critial - Planning, installation, configuration, and monitoring of DB2 UDB Data Replication (a.k.a. Data Propagator) Database Administration / System Engineer in a Datawarehouse environment. * Current experience with DB2 UDB Data Replication (a.k.a. Data Propagator) Worked with at least 2 different versions of DB2. * Installation and configuration of DB2 software and related products.
