Oracle Certified Master (OCM) desirable *RESPONSIBILITIES:* The Sr. Oracle DBA will participate in solutions planning and roadmap planning as well as providing day-to-day technical expertise for projects. § Responsible for ensuring availability and performance of the databases that support the system. § Work with the team to ensure that the associated hardware resources allocated to the databases and to ensure high availability and optimum performance. § To proactively monitor the database systems to ensure secure services with minimum downtime. § Responsible for providing trend analysis to the service management team to enable them to make informed decisions regarding resource management. Responsible for problem escalation to Oracle Development team and third parties as appropriate. § Responsible for improvement and maintenance of the databases to include rollout and upgrades. *REQUIREMENTS:* Ø Strong experience with Oracle 8i and hands-on experience with Oracle 9i. 10g, 11i. Oracle Certified Master (OCM) desirable but can be substituted with 5yrs hands-on Oracle DB experience. Ø Strong troubleshooting and problem solving skills; Ø DB Tuning in Oracle Application environment experience required; Ø Disaster Recovery Planning in Oracle Application environment experience required; Ø Physical database design & development experience; Ø Support of an Oracle Application in a production environment, 7x24 support with emphasis on Incident resolution under pressure; Ø Sr. level technical troubleshooting skills including ability to work-to-resolution on difficult technical problems requiring vendor support; Ø UNIX experience Ø Strong scripting skills??: PERL, SHELL…??
