Location: Piscataway, NJ

Responsibilities: The Senior Programmer Analyst I – Java will be responsible
for designing, developing, implementing and maintaining the client’s web
applications. The candidate will develop code using Java J2EE and Portal
tools.

Further responsibilities include:
* Conducts system analysis and software architecture proposals.
* Designs and develops Java/J2EE and Portal applications
* Plays a Subject Matter Expert role in several key areas of Java and Portal
systems.
* Hands-on position with emphasis on software development expertise.
* Communicates and enforces coding standards.
* Reviews work of team.
* Easily recognizes system deficiencies and implements effective solutions.
* Develops and conducts design walk-throughs.
* Provides support of application deployment and maintenance.
* Supports quality assurance testing.
* Supports production systems during weekend/off-hours work, when required.
* Leads and supports a team of developers.
* Works with project manager to create and execute project work plans and
revises as appropriate to meet changing needs and requirements.
* Reports progress and activity to project leader and/or manager on a
continuing basis.

The position includes implementing industry best practices and staying up to
date on emerging trends in order to implement the above when appropriate.
The incumbent will work hand in hand with system and application developers
and business users to define and implement standards and processes in this
area. The person in this position requires 5 years hands on analysis and
programming and experience, out of which at-least 3 years developing
Java/J2EE application. The individual should have solid design,
implementation, and administration experience with the Java/J2EE platform.
The candidate MUST have experience with the following technologies: - Java
(J2EE a plus), Portal, XML, XSL, XSD, HTML. The candidate must be able to
work as part of a team, as well as with all levels of management.

Requirements: Bachelor’s degree in Computer Science or equivalent. A minimum
of 5 years hands on analysis and programming and experience, out of which
at-least 3 years in developing Java/J2EE applications, XML, XSL, XSD, HTML.
Must demonstrate a strong skill level in utilizing Java/J2EE, relational
database, SQL, PL/SQL, and UNIX.
Proven working knowledge of the J2EE architecture. Strong Object-Oriented
analysis and design skills, including requirements analysis, OO design
patterns, and UML.
Expertise in the areas of:
Java, J2EE (JSP, Servlets, EJB), Application Servers (e.g./ Weblogic), Web
Application Frameworks (e.g./ Struts, Java Server Faces, etc.), Portal
(Architecture/Programming, Portlets, Administration), Content Management
Systems (Architecture/Programming, Administration), Relational Databases
(e.g./ Oracle), JDBC, SQL, Web Services, SOA, XML, XSL, Xpath,
HTML/XHTML/DHTML, JavaScript, AJAX, CSS, Design Patterns.
Familiarity with: Flash, ActionScript, Graphics editing, CGI, Perl, HTTP
protocol, IIOP protocol.
Must understand browser specific compatibility issues. Any experience in
integrating applications with Portal Solutions, experience with development
and configuration of WYSIWYG html/xml web based editors is highly desirable.
Experience in Oracle, Integration Technologies like webMethods, BEA
Weblogic, Oracle’s relational database, SQL, PL/SQL, LDAP and Portals are a
plus.
Appropriate work experience may substitute for academic credentials.
Good presentation and communication skills required to effectively present
ideas and concepts to the user community.
Ability to mentor other staff.
Ability to work as part of a team, as well as with all levels of management.
