Position Summary Build a system where data is ingested from multiple data sources into a PostgreSQL database, geospatialized with PostGIS, processed with Hadoop, indexed using SOLR/Lucene, exposed through REST/JSON web services and consumed by mobile and web user interfaces. Essential Functions Developers on this project will work on one or more of the following system components: 1) Review, analyze, and modify programming systems including encoding, testing, debugging and documenting software 2) Review, evaluate, design, implement and maintain Microsoft SQL server databases 3) Identify data sources, construct data decomposition diagrams, provide data flow diagrams and document the technical and business processes 4) Write code for database access, modifications and constructions including SQL server stores procedures Major Job Duties and Responsibilities: Reconfiguration of retired applications.
