Creating patches for locally extracted upstream sources is a breeze with
git (no remote repo, out-of-the-box patch file creation, ...). Many of
us have been using it manually for a while (cf. all those 000*-* patches
in GAR) and Ben has now kindly spent some time to make it a more
integrated part of the whole GAR build workflow - one which doesn't
require intimate git knowledge to use it.
