AFAIR, MH expects the .mh_sequences file to contain:

  unseen: numbers...
  replied: numbers...
  flagged: numbers...

for these. I think that much is standard but I never was a very
big MH user; I just happened to find that much out to write my trivial
mhdir script, which MHifies a directory by setting these up...
