Hello. I am using mutt as my mail client and decided I needed better search capabilities when I found Mairix.
7,942 out of my 89,884 emails output the following error: Scanning </root/.mail/test/cur/1190048337.2024.C3xGf:2,RS> Giving up on message /root/.mail/test/cur/1190048337.2024.C3xGf:2,RS with bad header Skipping /root/.mail/test/cur/1190048337.2024.C3xGf:2,RS (could not parse message) I noticed the 7,942 had two from headers; 'From' and 'From:' and upon removing the 'From' header the mail parsed fine. Here is an example of an email with both 'from' headers: Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] From [EMAIL PROTECTED] Thu Apr 24 21:22:39 2008 Return-Path: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-Spam-Checker-Version: SpamAssassin 3.1.7 (2006-10-05) on mail2 X-Spam-Level: X-Spam-Status: No, score=0.5 required=7.0 tests=NO_REAL_NAME,SPF_PASS autolearn=no version=3.1.7 bayes=0.5 Delivered-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Received: by dtsteve (fdm 1.4, account "home"); Thu, 24 Apr 2008 17:25:01 -0400 Received: (qmail 9390 invoked by uid 89); 24 Apr 2008 21:22:39 -0000 Received: from lists-outbound.sourceforge.net (66.35.250.225) by mail1.domain.ca with SMTP; 24 Apr 2008 21:22:39 -0000 Received-SPF: pass (mail1.domain.ca: SPF record at _spf.sourceforge.com designates 66.xx.2x0.xx5 as permitted sender) Received: from sc8-sf-list1-new.sourceforge.net (sc8-sf-list1-new-b.sourceforge.net [10.3.1.93]) by sc8-sf-spam2.sourceforge.net (Postfix) with ESMTP id 1FC0012B2D for <[EMAIL PROTECTED]>; Thu, 24 Apr 2008 14:22:38 -0700 (PDT) MIME-Version: 1.0 Content-Type: text/plain; charset="us-ascii" Content-Transfer-Encoding: 7bit Subject: Welcome to the "Mairix-users" mailing list From: [EMAIL PROTECTED] To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] X-No-Archive: yes Message-ID: <[EMAIL PROTECTED]> Date: Thu, 24 Apr 2008 14:22:37 -0700 Precedence: bulk X-BeenThere: mairix-users@lists.sourceforge.net X-Mailman-Version: 2.1.8 List-Id: Discussion list for mairix users <mairix-users.lists.sourceforge.net> X-List-Administrivia: yes Sender: [EMAIL PROTECTED] Errors-To: [EMAIL PROTECTED] All the mail I receive (POP3) has two 'from' headers. Mutt strips the "From" line after I sort the email into its proper folder. I asked two friends to search their mail archives and both suggested they had some mail with both a "From" and "From:" line in certain emails. This becomes a problem for me for mail folders where I do not sort the mail (eg mailing lists). I have FDM drop the mail directly into the correct mail folder. Any hints would be appreciated. -steve ------------------------------------------------------------------------- This SF.net email is sponsored by the 2008 JavaOne(SM) Conference Don't miss this year's exciting event.
