mairix was written to handle an email archive in more like the 10^4 to
10^5 range of messages.  I wanted to keep everything in memory for speed
and convenience.

I know several people have been disappointed when they've tried to use
mairix with much larger mail archives.  The solution to that is, no
doubt, to use an on-disc database of some kind.  It's a new problem
space that I have no personal interest in.  Somebody else who has that
itch to scratch needs to get hacking on it, I'm afraid.
