mairix was written to handle an email archive in more like the 10^4 to 10^5 range of messages. I wanted to keep everything in memory for speed and convenience. I know several people have been disappointed when they've tried to use mairix with much larger mail archives. The solution to that is, no doubt, to use an on-disc database of some kind. It's a new problem space that I have no personal interest in. Somebody else who has that itch to scratch needs to get hacking on it, I'm afraid. ------------------------------------------------------------------------------ Register Now & Save for Velocity, the Web Performance & Operations Conference from O'Reilly Media.
