REGATTA HIGHLIGHTS:
We had a nice 7-15 knot northwesterly breeze and overcast skies which
allowed us to set a course in the Severn River right off the Naval Academy.
A strong 1.5 knot ebb current down the river with the breeze all day,
leading to 0 general recalls and many boats not quite fetching the weather
mark. LT Ted Huebner, LT Ben Herring and their team of midshipmen completed
6 races before a lunch break and 8 after to leave only 6 remaining for
Sunday. Thanks to Herb Larrabee for serving as an on the water judge and
keeping the racing fair. Zero protests were heard, but two boats retired
after finishing.
