Saturday at the Top 9 saw close racing on the East River between the top 9
teams in the conference. In all, 11 races were completed in the 'Arrigan
format' with each team fielding two boats to compose an 18 boat fleet.
After each race, the magic of techscore divided the finishes into A and B
divisions to produce a normal-looking scoreboard. The St. Mary's Seahawks
lead after day 1 in a close battle with the Georgetown Hoyas.

Due to the forecasted nasty conditions arriving early this week from
Hurricane Sandy we ended the regatta early at 12PM. Three more races were
completed today to make a grand total of 14 for the event. The scores were
close all the way to the end, with Georgetown holding on to take the win
over Navy and St. Mary's. All the competitors were extremely gracious in
their assistance getting the masts dropped and all the boats stored inside
for the storm, my hat goes off to them for the effort.

A big thanks go to the team of Maritime sailors- led by PRO Matt Schoene-
who put on a good show for the top 9.
