Atlantic Coast Tournament at St. Mary's College of MD

Sat:
Despite a terrible forecast, a light Southerly filled during the competitors'
meeting allowing for five races in each division before lunch in the two fleets
(A in FJ's and B in 420's). Over a relaxed lunch break the breeze shifted to
the East while those interested checked out the hoopla surrounding the
dedication of a newly created oyster reef within the oyster sanctuary inside
Horseshoe Bend on the St. Mary's River. As the new direction filled
competitors sailed out for two more races in a very shifty and increasingly
spotty new direction. All races were sailed on the windward/two fleet option
course ("WTF"). Stovy Brown heard and dismissed one protest. Fleets switch
boats in the morning as we attempt races 8 A & B. Nice work by the Seahawks
led by Fletcher Sims as PRO running the races today.

Sun:
Sunday's forecast was better, but the actual breeze was not. Four races were
sailed before going flat at noontime. Guy Barbato heard a protest with Ward
Cromwell resulting in a dsq. The breeze never filled again and teams headed on
the road by 2pm. Congratulations to the Cougars edging out the Camels for the
win.
