I had a bad time with Casio when i had one.
It wood work for about 5 months, Then it decided it wanted to lock up so
you couldn't play or do anything with it.
Sent it to be repaired twice.

Great! I'm looking at the MOXF8. I'm upgrading from my Casio, and I think it
will work out nicely.
Speaking of Motif, There are some missing patches in the Motif XF instrument
list, Primarily in the piano category.

Oh, so that model was from 1986? Yeah, then it's time for an upgrade.
The RD800, CP4, FA08, or the MOXF8

Would be a good replacement.
Part of the problem is using model numbers to figure out what Roland
made when is that they do strange things with the order. For instance,
when MIDI first came out they released the RD-300, RD-600, and the
RD-1000 all at the same time, and they've been filling in the numbers
since then. (That fit their drive for a 61 synth key action, 76 key
semi-weighted action, and 88 key piano style action back when they
were first pioneering the controller and module as two parts of a MIDI
setup model)

Yeah, that sounds like an older model. The current one in that
line-up right now is the RD800. Maybe they'll have fixed that
problem. Either that, or it's just because that's a stage piano.
They usually aren't built to accommodate for multitrack sequences.
If you want a keyboard that handles that better, you might even try
the Roland FA08 or the Yamaha MOXF.
I hope this helps.

Which keyboard do you own? Is it an older model or fairly knew?
That's unusual that you would only be able to have one effect per
instrument. I've never heard of that
