I've got 1930 sounds available through BassMIDI plus close to a full bank of
drum sound maps, and this is across eight sound files loaded in BassMIDI. I
have them in multiple files due to some organizational things and because
there is a finite limit as to just how many sounds you can put in a single
SF2 file, but it's fairly easy though a bit time consuming to set it all up,
but it is handy when you have them. Also, Viena will output the contents of
an SF2 file to a text document, which makes creating your own instrument
definition file fairly easy.
