After some investigation it has been determined that the MakeMaker
code for generating HTML from module POD documentation was never fully
implemented and appears to have never worked.
The next version of MakeMaker will have all of the HTMLifying code
*removed*. This means the following are going away:
HTMLLIBPODS
HTMLSCRIPTPODS
INSTALLHTMLPRIVLIBDIR
INSTALLHTMLSCRIPTDIR
INSTALLHTMLSITELIBDIR
INST_HTMLLIBIDR
INST_HTMLSCRIPDIR
htmlifypods
if you are using, or know of any code which is using, these MakeMaker
targets, please let me know.
If there's enough interest (read: if someone provides a patch) a new
htmlifying target will be added.
