MM_Unix.pm has a method called perldepend that hard codes a list of
headers for a Makefile section of the same name. I don't see
anything there that allows for the fact that the list should be
different for different versions of Perl. For example, pad.h now
exists in bleadperl (though it hasn't been added to perldepend yet),
but not in 5.8.0. If MM_Unix.pm gets updated to have pad.h in its
list, won't that break extension building on 5.6.1, 5.8.0, etc. if
someone installs the CPAN version of MM onto an older version of Perl?
