Ahh good. I had originally written up a somewhat beligerant reply about what is wrong with a "user reports bug, developer fixes bug" view of the Open Source world and then sat on it for a few days. Good thing that. You have precisely the right attitude for a bug reporter. I have no real desire to work on this problem and neither do you. Fortunately you realize this means its not likely to get fixed and are ok with that. Good. One last thing you can do to increase the probability of this getting fixed. I see you've put a bug in the IO::Stringy queue on rt.cpan.org. Toss one into the MakeMaker queue as well.
