I have just finished reading the Aeneid for the first time and I have a
question. What is the significance of Camilla? In part of Book XI, she
seems to be the main character. Was she patterned on a character in the
Iliad? Was she somehow connect to Roman traditions or religion?
I would greatly appreciate any insights on this subject.
