Yes, I agree with Olivier, it would probably be better to use MapPaneOL 
with the latest version (currently in sandbox/ol_integration).

There is going to need to be some updates made to the code.

MapPaneOL should register for a modelChange event from the 
FeatureCollection. When MapPaneOL receives the event (via a function 
call) the GML will need to be parsed again to create the OpenLayers 
vector layer.

This will work for you if your GML is small and doesn't take too long to 
parse. (Say 100 points or 10 lines).

An alternative might be to update the Openlayers vector layer directly 
instead of updating your GML.

Both options require a bit of JS coding.
