I don't think there is an existing attribute search widget, but it would 
be a good addition to the codebase.

If you haven't already found it, I suggest using the Geoserver WFS 
builder which allows you to test a WFS post to see if it works.

Once you have the right WFS query to send, you will find it easier to 
build the widget.
