We did this almost two years ago for our boulevard mowing program. Full MGOS install on the laptops, custom Fusion viewer for inspecting and updating attribute information on the roads, and a single-button sync SDF<->Oracle using an fdo2fdo batch file for when they got back to the office.
It worked well, but we ended up replacing it with an external AVL solution this year when their business requirements changed. Yes, it would be easy enough to create a stand-alone application based on MGOS for use on field laptops. It could be done using Windows or Linux. The quickest path to this would be to use Windows and let the installer install the bundled Apache and PHP version of the web extensions. _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
