In a Symbol Library, click the New button. You can add symbols from png, jpg, gif, bmp, wmf and emf. WMF and EMF are vector files with individual properties for the line and fill objects so these are the format of symbols that you should use for your use case. It looks like the push pins in the Basic Symbols sample originated as one of those formats since you CAN override the colors for them. In the Style Point dialog for a point layer, select the push pin from the symbol library and then notice that you can change the Fill color, Line color and Text color for it. You can do this as part of a thematic style definition as well.
The files, once added to a Symbol Library, are stored in the MGOS repository as a bytestream so there is no file that is directly viewable or editable at the file system level. Andy Morsell, P.E. Hi, I am using MGOS 2, MGStudio and .NET In the Sheboygan sample there is a symbols folder with BasicSymbols and Logos in. The BasicSymbols contains 2 PushPins. These can be coloured but the Logos can't. There are a few things that are baffling me: Where are these symbols stored on the computer? What format are they in? How can I create my own? So to sum up I want to know how to create a symbol with the same properties as the PushPin symbol that can be coloured depending on certain criteria. Any help or advice would be appreciated Regards JD p.s. I appreciate that this isn't directly associated with MGOS but I am hoping somebody might be able to help:) -- View this message in context: http://n2.nabble.com/Can-anybody-help-with-colouring-symbols--tp3137215p3137 215.html Sent from the MapGuide Users mailing list archive at Nabble.com. _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users _______________________________________________ mapguide-users mailing list [email protected] http://lists.osgeo.org/mailman/listinfo/mapguide-users
