Neil_w, First Civil3D is kinda' sorta' a SUPERSET of Map3d. Civil3d utilizes the same FDO component. Check versions. Check it out. Sometimes things have to be done in an instructional and educational way to find out what the REAL issue is. (hint ... hint)
