I'm using OSGeo.PostgreSQL.
So there may be no solution to my problem when using 2.2...
That's a pity, because moving to 2.4 is not makeable for me right now.

Subject: Re: [mapguide-users] PostGIS connection crashes MapGuide server

Which provider are you using?

OSGeo.PostGIS?
OSGeo.PostgreSQL?

If it's the first one (OSGeo.PostGIS), you are *strongly* advised to stop using
it. Not only is it buggy and unstable, it is also no longer included with newer
versions of MapGuide / FDO since that 2.2 release.

If it's the other one (OSGeo.PostgreSQL), you are using what is essentially a
v1.0 provider with plenty of un-tested corner cases that have since been been
patched up and improved with subsequent versions of FDO.

So 2.2 is bit of a mixed bag if PostGIS connectivity is what you're after.
