That looks like an invalid JSON response. You should *never* get an empty
"layers" array.
Empty selections should give back JSON like this:
{ "hasSelection": false }
Which is what I would've expected to have seen instead of this JSON.
Take a look at GetSelectionProperties.php, that is what is returning the
JSON. Something in that script is screwy with regards to your particular map
setup.
