Hi all, Just a heads-up for anyone still using Bing Maps as a background layer in their MapGuide applications:
As from yesterday* the Bing Maps v6 and v7 APIs* by Microsoft versions are no longer supported, and as a result, map tiles fail to load unless a valid API key is provided using the newer endpoints. What this means: - If you're using Fusion templates that rely on Bing Maps layers, and you see Error_Fusion_BingMapsMissingApiKey in the viewer or logs, it's likely due to this deprecation. - Fusion’s default configuration for Bing Maps may still refer to the older API structure, which no longer functions without updates. Suggested Actions: 1. *Update Your Fusion Widgets*: Make sure your BingMaps widget configuration is pointing to a supported Bing Maps API version. 2. *Switch to Alternative Background Layers*: If you prefer not to deal with Bing Maps licensing, consider switching to OpenStreetMap or other tile providers (Stamen, Mapbox, etc.). If anyone has already patched Fusion or MapGuide configurations to work with the newer Azure Maps API or other tile providers, feel free to share your approach with the list. Hope this helps others avoid issuse!
