MI Update Column

Hi all

I've been confused lately.  I need to update one column with data from
different data sets.  How can I do this without overwriting previous data?

I can do the first column update just fine, then I go to update the same
column with my 2nd data set and that is completed fine, only the records
updated from the first data set become blank.  The actual records updated
are different with each data set.

 I am sure this is something simple, so I am looking forward to your
responses.
