Sorry, I should have mentioned that when I perform Update Column on a table
with values from a source table, an error is returned "Unable to update
<table name>".  The two tables are correctly joined, and what I thought were
the other important criteria for Update Column to work are listed below.
Hope that more clearly defines the problem.

I have UC'd many columns in the past and I can think of no other reasons for
it not to work this time, and hoped that someone on the list might see
something I'm missing.  [I send this to back the list because others may
have the same question as George; sorry for the duplication]
