Hi Andrew,
I believe it was logged as a bug.
If you have a window with lots of custom labels you may get this message.
If you just have autolabel on, it is OK; but if you move them around they
become a custom label.  This then results in the string (that MapBasic uses
to run this command) not being long enough to cope with all of these custom
label.
Just get rid of the custom labels.
