Ahmet I've had this problem before but never had a satisfactory answer from anyone (users & MapInfo tech.). What I have found out is that if you set the scale in the layout to 1:1001 or if it's 1:500 set it to 1:501 it will normally come come out near enough as makes no difference. Also remember that if your base maps are digitised at, for instance, 1:1250 each line on the page will equal 0.5 metres on the ground so printing at 1:1000 and loosing 1 mm should not be too much of a problem, however annoying. You should also look at the type of paper your using (stretch is a factor) and the humidity in the office environment - this is particularly relevant when printing on negatives. Hope that helps Mark. -----Original Message----- From: Ahmet DABANLI [mailto:[EMAIL PROTECTED]] Sent: 21 March 2000 19:53 To: MapInfo Help Subject: MI: Scale problem Hi Everybody I have a big problem i've prepared a layout i've printed a 1:1000 scale map with a HP 670C printer and it is fine. two points with known location has 10 cm distance on paper and 100 meter on map i didn't changed anything and printed again with the same printer AMAZING same two points with 100 meter distance on map has 9.9 cm distance on paper and the scale is 1:1000 is there anybody who can say what is the reason for this kind of problems MapInfo or Windows or Driver or Printer or X ?
