There's a useful bit of freeware called ScreenSeize which allows the user to
capture the active window/dialogue box etc (like printscreen, but it gives
you options as to what you want to 'print'. It then allows you to save it as
a bitmap. To get the window without borders, you can use the mouse to draw
a rectangle around the area you want to capture.

Subject: MI-L How to fix "Save Window As" problems with borders

Here's a handy FYI if you are trying to save MapInfo mappers as
bitmaps and don't want a border (or a partial one as is often the
case).

In 6.0, you just have to click on the Advanced button from the
Save Window As dialog and uncheck "Export Borders"

Prior to 6.0, you need to add a key to the registry. Run Regedit
and open up
HKEY_LOCAL_MACHINE
  SOFTWARE
    MapInfo
      MapInfo
        Common

Choose Edit/New from the menu and create a new DWORD key called
ExportBorder. Set it to 0 (zero). Exit and restart MapInfo, and
now all your Save Window As exports will be borderless!
