One reason not to switch to a web based forum is it gives the readers the
convenience of receiving and replying to the mailing list using their own
e-mail software. Having the mailing list gives the readers the convenience
of reading and replying through Outlook, and not having to bother with all
the annoyances and slowness associated with browsers and websites and
internet connections. The e-mail comes directly to the reader instead of
making the reader go to the message board. Anyway, that's my $00.02

I'm sure there is a good reason, but why doesn't
everyone change from a mailing list to a web based
forum. There are many free and very reliable services
including www.ezboard.com.
People wouldn't be recieving ANY e-mail. No
posssiblitiy of viri etc. etc.
If every forum changed to a mailing list like this one
the internet would come to a griding halt.
Or is it the case that many of the users cannot access
normal web pages?
