I have two raster images which are both in WGS84, Zone 36S.  One Landsat,
the other an air photo.

When you overlay them (in the same Mapper Window) they appear to be
compatible, but if you digitize in the cosmetic layer to get a shape
outline, and then remove one of the layers/images you get a shift, such that
there is no near coincidence.

Is this because the cosmetic layer automatically uses Lat/Long (without a
datum)? If so, should I create a new layer in WGS84, Zone 36S PRIOR to
digitising?
