Hi
I'm currently investigating the idea for my firm of providing simple GIS functionality
for our clients. My idea is to carve out a niece for us providing simple, low cost GIS
systems for small organisations to supplement the survey side of the company.
My vision is to use Delphi to produce the basic application with the GIS side provided
by either MapInfo or some other 3rd party control.
The trouble I have with MapInfo is having to provide an individual licence for every
copy of my application that the client has on his/her network.
So my question is: what is the best way to go about this? Is there a good 3rd party
control available for Delphi to provide GIS functionality so that one can create stand
alone applications; or is it simpler to just use MapInfo Runtime or MapX and bill the
client for the licences.
All replies gratefully appreciated.
