It sounds horribly like you have an ArcGIS Geodatabase. What ArcGIS (or
ArcInfo/ArcView 8.0) allows you to do is store geometry in databases either
as a enterprise geodatabase (i.e. in something like SQL server/Oracle/DB2)
or as a personal geodatabase which uses the Access 2000 format.

I would guess the only way you could do it would be to pass it back to the
supplier and ask them to export the data as a shape file. Or you could go
and have a look at www.safe.com <http://www.safe.com> and a product called
FME (which is the basis for the universal translator in MapInfo) and see if
that will do the trick (there is a 30 day free download eval copy on the
website which may well be useful).
Hope this helps

        Subject: MI-L Arcinfo table

         Dear List
I've an arcinfo table that I need to open to extract the data
without using the actual application. The arcinfo file is in an .mdb
format. Access doesn't open the table. I was wondering if it is possible
to open this file directly into MI. All help is gratefully received.
        Kind regards.
        JC
