Hello - Anyone with experience setting up TrueType Fonts for use as MapInfo Symbols please share. I have contacted MapInfo Tech Support who indicate the Font Type Property must be set as "Symbol II" for MapInfo to recognize it as a Symbol. Previous posts to this questions have suggested "Fontographer" as software to use, however at $350.00 this seems a bit of an overkill for simple setting of a Font property. I have tried the Shareware font editor "Softy" out of the UK (http://home.iclweb.com/icl1/d.w.emmett/). This program allows for the setting of the Font Attribute "Character Set" as Symbol, however MapInfo will still not recognize the font.
Is Fontographer the only solution for preparing TrueType Fonts for use as MapInfo Symbols or has anyone found an alternate solution? Thanks in advance.
