Michigan has a great Center for Geographic Information (CGI) and a wealth of
freebie stuff at http://www.michigan.gov/cgi . You will need the new
Michigan GeoRef projection in your .prj file. All files are ESRI. Here it
is.

"Michigan GeoRef", 7, 74, 7, -86, 45.3091666666, 337.25556, .99960,
2546731.496, -4354009.816

I have placed it under US State Plane 1983 (meters) as this is where it came
from (the archival data prior to conversion to the new projection). Your
Mapinfo.prj File has many headers that are the first pull down when
selecting a projection (find "--- US State Plane Coordinate Systems (1983,
meters) ---", and entries following are in the second pull down. Put the
entry after the first 3 Michigan zones. Note that it really doesn't matter
where you paste it in, as long as you can get back to it.
