If you are interested in a code way of doing it look at:

Section 2.01

But be warned: The center of mass is often outside of a polygon (think a
crescent moon shape, which is common around coastlines) and especially often
outside of a multi-polygon region.

Subject: MI-L "center of mass" of a region.

Hi MI users

In MI manual it is said: "In MapInfo, a region's centroid does not represent
its center of mass."
Does anybody knows how to calculate the "center of mass" of a region?

Thanks.
