I had a similar problem and found that it was related to using an old version of the Blue Marble Geotracker software. I recommend you visit their website and download the latest version of this free MapInfo plug-in. After I did this, I found my point data was accurate to within one second of the button click.

The problem we are noticing is a significant lag on the position updates when we are moving in a vehicle. The GPS receiver specs say that it will send out an updated position once per second, but we are lagging behind on the update of positions by at least 10 seconds, which can be a significant distance at 70 mph. If anyone else has had the same problem or could recommend a solution I would appreciate the help.
