Digital Data Technologies (DDTI) has released a new desktop GIS called AccuGlobe 2004. It can be freely downloaded at www.ddti.net/accuglobe.asp. AccuGlobe 2004 was developed by DDTI, and was built on GeoMicro's AltaMap components.
AccuGlobe 2004 contains many robust GIS features typically found in higher end products, such as feature editing, support for SHP and TAB files, charts, smart labeling, web updates and creating project files. The primary purpose of AccuGlobe is to provide a mapping platform for individuals and organizations that have previously been unable to use GIS software because of the expensive license fees. An independent product review is available at http://www.gismonitor.com/news/newsletter/archive/112003.php. Dave
