Hello Flavio, Are you *sure* you have indexed the Shape object column? This is the one thing that can kill the performance of any ESRI software (or any software for that matter as a spatial index is essential for anything more than a trivial data set).
Running our biggest global data set, Global Discovery (~1.2Gb of data, millions of records total, mix of vector and raster) the display speeds between Pro and ArcGIS v8.x are not that far apart, at any zoom level. No map render takes 20-30 seconds. The only thing that is slower is labelling but then with better features, ArcGIS is going much more processing to find good placement that Pro can. If/when Pro has better labelling, I'm sure it will be slower too.
