I don't think so. However you can:

- save it as a workspace ... :-(
- save the labels using the Label Tool (not much better)
- create workspace with the following content (and open it to label the 
layer) ...:

!Workspace
!Version 600
!Charset WindowsLatin1
Set Map Layer MY_LAYER_NAME Label With OBJECTID+" "+TYPE Auto On
