Hi Patrick

The translator from SHP to MapInfo works perfect, but I have a problem with it,
because it removes "Tool" unctionality from MApInfo and replaces by your "Tools"
functionality. Meaning I'm no longer able to use the other functionalities on MapInfo
"Tools" dropdown.

Will you fix this. I think changing the Icon Name from "Tools" to "Translator" can
solve this problem.

Regards,

Norman

Yves:

Have you tried SHP to Mapinfo at
http://software.geocomm.com/translators/arcview/

I ran into similar problems and just used this one instead.

Subject: MI-L Universal translator : arcview shp to mapinfo tab

Hello,

I have just had a problem with universal translator (MapInfo
Professional
Version 5.5) while translating shapefiles.

Parts of mutlog.txt :

MapInfo coordinate system string for TAB file is `CoordSys NonEarth
Units
"m"'
MapInfo file 'C:\WINDOWS\Bureau\ACONVERTIR\poly.tab' could not be
opened.
Check that file path name is valid.
C:\safe\stf\mapinfo\minfwch.cpp:321 Precondition layer_ == NULL failed
C:\safe\stf\mapinfo\minfwch.cpp:321 Precondition layer_ == NULL failed

abnormal program termination

Have you got a clue ?

Would you please help me or tell me where to find information about it.

Thank's

Yves GODDE
