Almost 6 years ago I've written a small utility to translate Surfer ASCII
grids into Vertical Mapper ASCII grids, the file can be found at
http://www.directionsmag.com/files/index.php/view/133. Note that the
translation is rather slow and works only upon certain versions of ASCII
files. The formatting of files must be exactly as required by the
respective software. I no longer support this utility, but if there is
enough interest I can improve it and add support for additional formats,
but me give some time...
