John, The easiest way to make a copy of the table and in that copy use an update expression where you replace the object with the centroid of the polygon. You can create this centroid simply, by using the Centroid function. In MapBasic this would result in:
Update <mytablename> set Obj = Centroid(Obj) Hope this helps.
