Some of my colleagues have always discussed the difference between "GIS acres" and real "on the ground acres". Most of these are ESRI product users which I don't believe has the option of choosing Cartesian or Spherical under distance/area under Map Options. By choosing Spherical, does this almost eliminate the difference between the GIS acres and on the ground acres? Just curious.
