You can have an evaluation version from Encom for their products. If you made a
request, you should receive an answer eventually. They are in Australia and
probably have a significant different time table...

They will send you a link for the download of the requested product. You
install it, and during the installation, it will prompt show you a number. Send
the number back to them and you'll received back an activation code...

Subject: MI-L SUM: Multiple Grids on 3D Map

Thanks to Karl Kliparchuk and Stuart Morrison for their replies.

The question was 'Is it practical to display more than one grid file in a 3D
Map?'

Both suggested combining the grids into one grid file before using the 3D
Map option. I have tried this but the 3D view is poor (buildings don't have
vertical sides) unless the resolution is as high as possible. Unfortunately
when this is done, system resources are stretched and it becomes impractical
to move around the 3D view. I also need to drape an aerial image over the
terrain then place the buildings on top. What I think I need is a
combination of the 3D Map and the Prism Map, but this is beyond MI's current
capabilities.

Karl also suggested I take a look at Encom's Engage3D
(http://www.encom.com.au <http://www.encom.com.au> ). This does seem to fit
the bill but I can't find any pricing info on the Encom site nor any
distributors sites. It would also be very useful to have an evaluation
version. Can anybody point me to this? Or perhaps somebody has experience of
Engage3D that they could share? By the way, I have tried emailing Encom, but
have not had a response.

Regards,

Keith
